TEK BIN

TEK BIN was created by Tariq Nazar in the mid-ninetees to make some
displays for a local sci-fi LARP-group. The script was supposed to be
used by a race of intelligent machines, so he tried to give it a very
technical look.

Notable features

  • Because the symbols are totally symmetric, there is a special
“starting block” that indicates the beginning of a document.
  • TEK Bin is designed for writing German, though can be used to write English
  • The numbering system is basically binary, so any number could be
written by using only 0 and 1, which results in a nice barcode-like
look that underlines the technical background. For the “human user”
there are “vertical binary” numbers for “2” to “9”.
