Sholanquano alphabet   

The Sholanquano alphabet is the invention of Asa (apollotiger[at]ix.netcom.com)
and is based on the Arabic script with vowel
diacritics based on the Tengwar script. He
uses it to write a conlang that he and a friend are working on.

Notable features

• Each letter has a different shape depending on it’s position in a word.
• Vowels are written above and/or below the consonants, or are attached
  to a special vowel carrier when they appear on their own.
• Sholanquano can be written either left-to-right or right-to-left. A
  small mark that looks like a cross between ç and < appears on the left of each line of left-to-right text. On the right of each line in right-to-left text a mirror image of this symbol appears.
• The medial forms of a few of the letters: k, r and their variants g,
  kh, gh, ŋ, l, reverse direction when the script is written right-to-left.
• The left form of l and r is used when writing right-to-left, and the
  right form is used when writing left-to-right.

Transliteration

Obdoi shomboi venom nathithi liproi i ettenetoi sid tikeneton i
bodhathenodin. Si venom greathi sjedh lezonon i zginidron i eipun
zinshar atit sin sjedh badoron lan frinesotot.

Translation

All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They
are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another
in a spirit of brotherhood.
