The firm has translated since 1995 documents that must be understood and accepted by those who receive them: a public office, a judge, a notary, a university, a foreign client. This page gathers the translation services by type of document and sector and points to the detailed pages. One criterion unites them: every text is entrusted to a translator who knows the subject as well as the language, and every translation intended for official use is sworn or certified by the person who answers for it.

Official translations
These are the translations that produce legal effects. The sworn translation is taken under oath before the Court and is required by Italian authorities for certificates, degrees, judgments, powers of attorney and company documents issued abroad. The certified translation carries the statement and stamp of the official translator without an oath and is the form accepted in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the United States, Canada and Australia. Both can be followed by the apostille or legalisation required by the destination country.
Legal and court translations
Judgments and decrees, writs and appeals, general and special powers of attorney, contracts, articles of association and board minutes, legal opinions, arbitration and insolvency files, civil status records and criminal record certificates. Legal translation requires knowledge of both legal systems: a trust, an affidavit or a limited partnership have no exact Italian equivalent, and the translator must render the institution so that the Italian judge or notary grasps its scope without distorting it. The firm works with law firms, notaries, courts and in-house legal departments, with the confidentiality these documents demand and, when the document is to be filed in court, with the oath before the Court of Rome. The founder, a legal consultant with a law degree, translates personally from and into English, French and Spanish.
Corporate, financial and commercial translations
Certificates of incorporation and chamber of commerce extracts, annual accounts and auditors’ reports, due diligence files, tender documents, supply and distribution agreements, terms and conditions, catalogues, presentations and correspondence. For foreign companies opening a branch or a subsidiary in Italy, the firm translates and swears the corporate documents for the notary and the Companies Register and legalises the Italian documents for the parent company’s jurisdiction. For Italian companies abroad, it prepares certified translations of accounts and certificates for banks, tax authorities and tenders, with terminology glossaries maintained for recurring clients.
Academic, medical and technical translations
Degrees, transcripts, syllabuses and course descriptions for recognition procedures and university admissions, where the names of courses and grading systems must be rendered as the Italian authority expects; medical records, discharge letters and reports for treatment abroad, insurance claims and administrative use; patents, manuals, data sheets and safety documentation for industry. Each text goes to a translator with training in the field, and documents for official use are sworn or certified like any other.
Interpreting, transcription and other services
The firm provides sworn interpreters for notarial deeds, court hearings and civil weddings in Rome, where a party who does not speak Italian must be assisted by an interpreter who takes an oath and signs the deed, and liaison, consecutive and simultaneous interpreters for meetings, negotiations and conferences, in person or by video link. It transcribes and translates audio and video recordings for use in court, with the oath on the transcript, revises and certifies translations made by others, provides terminological opinions for lawyers and companies, and localises websites and software for foreign markets. Detailed descriptions of these services are available in Italian on the corresponding pages of the site; enquiries in English are welcome.
Languages
English, French, Spanish, including the Argentine variety, Serbian, Montenegrin and Amharic are translated in-house by the founder. German, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Tagalog, Albanian, Romanian, Polish and the other languages of a network of some 180 are handled by native translators selected over thirty years, with the sworn or certified form signed by a registered translator of the firm after revision. Translations between two foreign languages are made through Italian when they are to be sworn, as Italian Courts require, and directly when they are not.
Frequently asked questions
Do you use machine translation?
Not for official, legal, medical or corporate documents. Translation memories and glossaries are used to keep terminology consistent, and for very large volumes of internal, non-published text the firm can offer full human revision of a machine draft, with a separate quote and a clear statement of the limits of that service.
How is the price calculated?
Per document for standard certificates, per word or per page for longer texts, according to language, subject and urgency, with oath, certification, legalisation and courier shown separately. The written quote arrives within one working day and the amount quoted is the amount invoiced.
Can you handle a large project with a short deadline?
Yes. The work is divided among several translators with a single reviser who ensures uniform terminology, and the client has one point of contact throughout. A specialist translator produces about two thousand finished words a day, which gives a reliable basis for planning.
Do you sign confidentiality agreements?
Yes, the client’s own agreement before receiving the documents if required. Collaborators are bound by confidentiality, files are kept on protected systems for the time required and deleted on request after delivery.
Do you have a document to translate?
Send us a scan and tell us the target language and what the document is for: you receive within one working day a written quote with timing, costs and the form of translation required.
