Algerian Arabic is a variety of Maghrebi Arabic spoken in Algeria
by about 20 million people. It is mainly used as spoken language in homes
and between friends, and also in songs, and is rarely written down.
Algerian Arabic has a Berber substrate and many loan words from
French, Spanish and Turkish.
